Foundation Program (FP) is the perfect next step for those who have enjoyed attending drop in meditation sessions.
Now is the perfect time to join!
We are studying The New Eight Steps to Happiness.
The New Eight Steps to Happiness by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
We all have the potential for self-transformation and a limitless capacity for the growth of good qualities, but to fulfil this potential we need to know what to do along each stage of our spiritual journey.
Based on the famous Eight Verses of Training the Mind by the great Tibetan Bodhisattva, Langri Tangpa, The New Eight Steps to Happiness reveals essential methods for transforming all life’s difficulties into valuable spiritual insights. This inspiring book helps us to develop universal love and compassion, the source of true happiness for both ourself and others.
The oral transmission of the book, combined with teachings, guided meditations and discussion, will build our confidence to apply Dharma in daily life. By doing this consistently, we will joyfully turn our initial insights into actual realisations of Dharma.
Most of all, by building a connection with the teachings and spiritual friends, Foundation Program is the perfect way to energise and sustain our spiritual life.
“Everyone, whether religious or non-religious, is looking for happiness all the time and wants to be free from problems and suffering permanently. We can fulfil these wishes through understanding and practicing the instructions given in this book” – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
The New Eight Steps to Happiness (paperback £9.95) is available for purchase from our shop.
If you wish to deepen your experience of Buddha’s teachings and find meaning and lasting happiness in your modern life, you will enjoy the Foundation Program (FP). Joining FP involves enrolling for a section of the book and trying to attend all the classes, one of which is an end-of-year exam. Each class consists of short chanted prayers, a guided meditation, teaching and discussion. The classes are systematic and interactive and students will find that their knowledge and wisdom grows week by week as a result.
Price: £30 per month (supporting member)
In order to join, enrolment is required (please note Foundation Programme is not a drop-in class). The class fee includes admission to all classes and courses at KMC Glasgow and our branch classes, with 30% off our special events.
How to Join FP
Please contact our Education Programme Coordinator, Annabel, on firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss joining the programme or to try out a taster class.
