Prayers for World Peace
A Friday Night With a Difference
Free | Everybody Welcome
Relax, reflect and open your heart during our chanted prayers and meditations for world peace and then enjoy vegetarian food and drinks with like-minded friends. Leave feeling uplifted, refreshed, inspired and ready for your weekend.
Chanted Prayers (or Puja in Sanskrit) help to still our mind and create a real sense of peace, openness and joy. Prayer, “monlam” in Tibetan, simply means “wish path”. The prayer booklets we use are known as ‘sadhanas’ meaning “methods for accomplishing attainments”. Using ancient prayers translated into English, these practices help us to purify our negativity and fill our mind with positive energy.
Friday Evening Prayers for World Peace, 7 – 8.30pm
The Wishfulfilling Jewel Puja with Tsog Offering is a beautiful practice in which we make offerings of pure and delicious foods and drinks to all the Buddhas in the form of Je Tsongkapa, who is an emanation of Manjushri, the Wisdom Buddha. We request their blessings to help with our spiritual progress, and for the happiness and health of all living beings. Offerings to the Buddhas are principally made with our hearts, but please feel free to bring an actual physical offering to represent this. An offering can be any food, drink, flowers or candles that you consider beautiful, delicious and/or pure. After the Puja we celebrate together – a really joyful evening.
All our prayers and meditation practices are recited in English with beautiful, easy-to-learn melodies and CD accompaniment.
