Welcome!

Meditation class in Glasgow

Our mission is to provide the people of Glasgow and the surrounding areas access to Buddhist mindfulness and meditation and methods that help them to develop happy and peaceful lives. To fulfil this aim we opened our new city temple in 2013, a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City. We are a registered charity (no. SC029515), run entirely by volunteers and dedicated students.

Through enabling people of the modern world to easily integrate Buddha’s timeless wisdom into their lives, resulting in personal transformation, we create the foundation for authentic world peace.

Everyone is welcome at KMC Glasgow! You do not have to be Buddhist to enjoy and benefit from the mindfulness and meditation teachings at our centre. In fact we have members from many different backgrounds, religions and walks of life. We have disabled access and a disabled toilet and also a hearing loop.

Please feel free to drop in for a visit. During our opening hours there is always someone at hand who can answer your questions and tell you more about the Centre. You can check out the shop which sells books by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, prayer booklets, meditation CDs, Buddhist artwork and gifts. Or feel free to just enjoy the beautiful shrine and relax in our comfortable sitting and reading area.

Learn to Meditate

Meditation is a way of calming and training our mind to be happy. It is easy to do, and something everyone can learn. Through meditation and by practising mindfulness in our daily activities, we can control our feelings and emotions, gain inner strength, let go of stress and start truly to relax.
