The purpose of meditation is to make the mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness.
Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) Glasgow was established to provide people in Glasgow and the surrounding areas with the opportunity to learn how to meditate and practice Buddha’s teachings. To fulfil this aim we opened our new city temple in 2013, a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Meditation can sometimes seem difficult to master whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner. This course will include guided meditation, practical advice and time to answer any questions. It will focus on how to develop a meditation practice that is joyful, energizing, and effective.
Buddha taught that we can easily cultivate true love and happiness in our hearts through meditation. By learning to cherish others we gain the ability to solve our inner problems. This course will focus on meditations that help us to become more peaceful and to relate to others in a positive and caring way.
Through understanding and practising Buddha’s teachings on bodhichitta, the mind of enlightenment, we can develop a good heart that is powerful, loving and wise. In this special course, you will learn how to develop this mind through meditation and how to transform daily life through the practice of the six perfections. Finally, a special Bodhisattva Vow ceremony will be offered.
