The purpose of meditation is to make the mind calm and peaceful. If our mind is peaceful we will be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we will experience true happiness.
Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) Glasgow was established to provide people in Glasgow and the surrounding areas with the opportunity to learn how to meditate and practice Buddha’s teachings. To fulfil this aim we opened our new city temple in 2013, a peaceful sanctuary in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City.

Our courses, retreats and special events provide the opportunity to explore a particular topic in more depth, socialise with like minded individuals and enjoy the happy and nurturing KMC Glasgow community.
By developing and maintaining compassion and wisdom in daily life, we can transform our lives, improve our relationships with others and look behind appearances to see the way things actually exist. Everyone is welcome to these on-going classes with Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Osung.
Gen Osung will guide us through teachings and meditations from an initial acceptance of our fear and unpleasant feelings in these difficult times towards a transforming experience of responding to our suffering with compassion.
This course looks at how we can transform our difficulties into personal growth, valuable spiritual insights and deep inner peace by training our mind. These practices enable us to use our adversities and experiences of suffering to create opportunities for deep and meaningful change and are essential for our happiness.
