In busy modern life we have so many things to distract us. How does this affect you? On this course you can learn meditations to quieten the mind and become more mindful of the present. You will find that you can accomplish more, while feeling peaceful and thinking more clearly. Learn to love being still in the company of your own mind!
This course looks at how to transform our adversaries into friends whose company we actually enjoy! It sounds like a tall order but is very do-able because Buddhism explains how to create friends using different ways of thinking and behaving. This brings very good results for us, protecting our mind from unhappiness and stress and increasing our feelings of wellbeing that come from such an open heart.
This course looks at Buddha’s teachings that explain how to improve our wisdom, understanding the nature of our world and the effects of our actions. We will also learn how to use these new insights in a practical way to avoid problems and confusion, and make our mind clear. In this way we will experience the clarity and purpose that wisdom brings to our life.
Join international guest speaker Gen Kelsang Dornying for a life-changing public talk on how to make ourselves happy. Everyone wants to be happy but we don’t always understand that it's a choice we can make. Happiness is a state of mind, and like any positive state of mind we can learn to strengthen it through the practice of meditation. Everyone is welcome to join us for this special event at the Trades Hall of Glasgow.
On this 4 week course we will take a step by step approach and learn specific meditation techniques that are designed to help us experience and maintain authentic happiness and let go of unhappiness. We will also learn how we can continue to train in these positive states during our daily activities and how to bring happiness into others’ lives.
Our mind can be like a deep calm ocean, still and clear, but due to the busyness of our modern life our mind is more like a stormy ocean. On this course we will explore the reasons our mind is often disturbed and realise that these many conceptions arise from the ocean of our mind itself. Then we will understand how it is truly possible to experience deep happiness and joy within our own mind.
