New mainland accommodation is now available at the Gardeners Cottages
The perfect island getaways
These retreats which are suitable for all levels of experience will take place in the stunning scenery of Inchmurrin Island in the middle of Loch Lomond which is only 45 mins from Glasgow. Between meditations you can enjoy walking around this peaceful island, taking in the views of the mountains and loch as you continue your contemplations.
The power of silence
Normally we are constantly distracted by external objects, frenetic activities and scattered thoughts. Observing silence is a powerful method to disengage us from this busyness and it leads us naturally to deeper levels of being. Our heart begins to open. From silence comes stillness. Our mind becomes like a still pool of water undisturbed by ripples.
Each retreat will include silent periods for contemplation and participants are asked to switch off their phones for the duration of the retreat.
Fri 22 – Tues 26 March
5 day silent concentration retreat
A unique opportunity to deepen your concentration in ideal conditions on the beautiful Loch Lomond Island of Inchmurrin. The retreat will focus on the meditation Equalising Ourself with Others. In this way we will deepen both our concentration and our love and return to daily life refreshed and energised – with a powerful, loving and peaceful mind.
Concentration is the essence of meditation, and determines both the power and the peacefulness of our mind. Through clear, systematic training we can dramatically improve our ability to concentrate, taste the bliss of suppleness and develop a deep inner peace and contentment. During the retreat Gen Tubchen will gently guide us to gain real experience of the peace of a concentrated mind, helping us to still the mind, absorb inwards and focus, free from distraction.

The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra
Thur 5 – Sun 8 September
Fine the time and space you need on this special island Mahamudra retreat where Gen Tubchen will skilfully guide us in simple but profound meditations taking us to a deep experience of the tranquillity and power of our own mind. These meditations reveal our true potential for transformation and we discover our limitless potential for universal love, profound wisdom, and unceasing joy. We can then return to daily life refreshed and energised, and share our peaceful mind with others.
The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra are very blessed. They have been transmitted through a continuous, unbroken lineage from the Wisdom Buddha Manjushri to our present day teachers. And now we have a precious opportunity to take these instructions to heart on this weekend retreat. In the Sutras Buddha says “If you realize your own mind you will become a Buddha; you should not seek Buddhahood elsewhere”. During this course, Gen Tubchen will clearly explain the essential meaning of these instructions.
This retreat follows the special teachings to be given at this year’s International Summer Festival at Manjushri KMC in the English Lake District.
