About these classes
This in-depth course will introduce meditators to the stages we need to pass through to realise a meditation object. In the beginning our perception is unclear or confused but through study and meditation our perception becomes clearer until finally we are able to realise our object directly. You will learn how this process works and how our practice can lead us to a deep and joyful understanding of hidden truths that will eliminate our confusion.
The classes are based on How to Understand the Mind, a practical guide that offers deep insights into the nature and functions of the mind. It explains how to develop and maintain a light and positive mind through recognising and abandoning states of mind that harm us, and replacing them with peaceful and beneficial ones.
“Happiness and suffering are feelings – parts of our mind – and so their main causes are not to be found outside the mind. If we really want to be truly happy and free from suffering we must improve our understanding of the mind.” Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, How to Understand the Mind
