About this course

Our life often feels chaotic and stressful. At times we struggle to perform our daily tasks and responsibilities successfully. It may help to alter our lifestyle, routine or job in some way, but fundamentally, if we fail to address our restless, unfocused mind, our life is always likely to feel overwhelming.

In this series we will come to appreciate how a distracted, turbulent mind reduces our capacity and well-being, while a calm, concentrated mind makes us happy and effective. We will learn what concentration is, what it’s benefits are, and how to develop it, both in meditation, and crucially, in our everyday life.

In Person & Online Classes

You can attend these classes either in person or online. If you sign up for the online course, a link will be sent to your email address 24 hours after each live class and will remain valid for seven days. In person bookings are for the whole course, spaces are limited so please make sure you book early!

If you live closer to Edinburgh, Aberdeen or Dumfries please visit our sister centres for online classes in other parts of Scotland.

About the teacher

arthur calnan

Arthur has been studying Buddhism and practising meditation for many years. Drawing on his experience as a doctor and father, his teachings are humorous, engaging and always practical for our daily lives.
