Avoid Cabin Fever
Free Your Mind
Saturday 2 May Online
With Gen Kelsang Osung
About this course
We may be feeling a little caged in right now… ready to break free. So how do we ultimately free our mind from painful feelings?
Buddha teaches that all our suffering comes from self grasping – a mistaken belief with regards to the way things exist.
We grasp at everything as if it exists as it appears, and then feel hemmed in on all sides by this grasping mind. The extent to which we suffer is directly proportional to the intensity of this grasping.
Through meditating on emptiness we can start to experience the bliss that comes when we dissolve everything into its ultimate nature.
We can relate to a dream like world and let the walls, and even the body, that we feel trapped in dissolve away. Then we can live lightly with this true flexibility of mind.
‘When we understand the true nature of things we will see that our world is like a dream, in that everything exists as mere appearance to mind. We will realise that we can change our world simply by changing our mind’ – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, The New Eight Steps to Happiness
