Friendships are very important to children, but not always easy to find or maintain. In this course we will look at topics like what makes a good friend, learning to appreciate the things we have in common with others and valuing and respecting differences.
Through child centred games, discussions, crafts and short meditations, the children will learn important skills for developing healthy, lasting friendships with others. Meditation in particular is a simple, effective method that over time helps us to be more open, relaxed, friendlier and confident.
About Kids Club
Kids Club aims to develop and nurture the positive qualities in children through meditation and positive thinking. In this class, the kids learned how to see the good in others by wearing special heart or star-shaped glasses that they made in the class.
Each class is organised around a Buddhist theme such as love, kindness and patience and will include a range of fun activities including story-telling, drama and crafts. Children will also be gently guided into a simple meditation and given techniques to gain confidence, focus and consideration for others.
All families are welcome, no previous experience of Buddhism or meditation is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The classes are designed for age range 5-11 years.
